It wasn't a sham after all

Some of you might have been already familiar with the Paypal Wishlist application in Facebook. When I first saw the ad I was a bit hesitant to try it. It was too good to be true. If you come to think of it, it is highly unlikely that Paypal would be able all of the users who have qualified for the promotion.

It was in the latter part of November when I started promoting my referral link to my friends. A week after, I got tired--thinking that maybe it was just one of those online scams. So I was very surprised to read in my messages that Paypal had sent me a payment of $18. Haha!

Had I known that it was for real, I would have invited more friends to reach the $100 maximum payout. tsk...tsk...tsk...

Some students find it difficult to maintain focus in studying their lessons. Unfortunately, I am one of those students. My main problem is that, after reading 3-5 pages of notes, I get sleepy almost immediately. I have solicited a couple of suggestions but none of them worked for me.

I have also tried drinking coffee to keep me awake but all it does make me jumpy and shaky--which makes it harder to concentrate even more. What's worse is that it usually takes more than 12 hours, in my case, for the effects to wear off. Students should not drink coffee when they are studying, at least that's my opinion.

My recommendation instead is listening to music--classical music. It worked wonders for me and it do the same for you too, I hope. Haha! Although I have not found a scientific study to explain this technique of studying, researches have enumerated other benefits derived from listening to pieces like Bach, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and Mozart.

In a supermarket in UK, reports of troublemakers and graffiti have substantially dropped after playing classical music in front of the store.

One hospital study even found that heart patients received the same anti-anxiety benefits from listening to 30 minutes of classical music as they did from taking the drug Valium.

Some surgeons also report that classical music makes for a relaxed, efficient operating room.

So far everything has been good. I've been doing this for about a week now and I can attest that the rate of lesson absorption really has increased. I would recommend this if you want to study effectively.

If you want to get even with someone or just play a nasty joke on your office mate, then you should try this heart-stopping program. All this application does is to have some scary sh*t pop on your monitor at a random interval. The image looks a bit like this (asian version nga lang):

or something like it

Try it on yourself first.
Let's see what you're made of.
Download the application here.

My Sexual Nationality

So I took the What's Your Sexual Nationality quiz on Facebook and the results are . . . quite intriguing. . . I'm French! Here's the detailed breakdown of the quiz:

You are a passionate, romantic, and sexually very open minded person. Sexuality is for you an important part of your life, you really love to seduce, and you can fall in love almost every week. You're sometimes ready to cross the borders and make new experiences that most people wouldn't make. You are very tolerant with all kinds of sexualities and you are a curious, yet certainly playful person. Sex, love, it's a game and you want your share of pleasure! You know how to talk to a man or woman, and you can be extremely charming, even at first sight. You're kind, smooth and polite, a real french lover! However, you're sometimes too idealistic and you can break down easily when you're dumped. Your heart is a real time bomb, and it can easily explode. Your versatile personality can make your relationships very unstable and you are not always able to understand that you can easily hurt people..

Except for the "you can fall in love almost every week" part, all of it holds true for me. Haha
